Learning to understand ourselves in those settings is often where real change begins. Group therapy gives clients the chance to practise that learning — in real time, with real people.
Who is group therapy for?

At Geelong Psychology, we offer both general wellbeing groups and specialist programs designed for first responders and military personnel navigating trauma, emotional fatigue, or ongoing stress.

What makes group helpful is also what makes it challenging
Group isn’t just about support. It’s a space where your usual ways of relating — the good, the messy, the automatic — tend to show up.
You might notice yourself staying quiet, getting defensive, always taking care of others, or pulling back when things feel close. That’s not a problem. That’s the work.
The group gives you the time and structure to slow down and ask:
